I purchased this racing chair through AliExpress for Christmas thinking I was getting a great deal. My friends were skeptical and told me do not do it. I was provided a tracking number so I thought “oh this is actually coming. This is great. I’m getting a great deal.” until I look closely at the delivery city, which did not match mine. The seller clearly provided me a fake tracking number. I spent days and days and days going back-and-forth with the customer service agents, which were no help and kept saying that they were escalating my issue to the senior team. The senior team just says that the seller has X amount of days to ship the product. The seller already told me that they cannot ship the product to request a refund, but there’s no option on their site so I told them to refund me to which they just blatantly ghosted me. Thank God, I purchased through PayPal and filed a chargeback with PayPal’s buyer protection. Chatting with the AliExpress customer service has been infuriating to say the least. Not my proudest moments, but I have cussed them out a couple of times during this process. Not to mention one of the agents asked me for my bank account number so that way they can process my refund, clearly trying to scam me out of more money. Hopefully PayPal resolves this soon and I get my refund.

This is #005 on the common scams FAQ.
You would have to open a dispute using the returns/refunds button in the order details, however by going to PayPal your order got frozen which means if you don't get a refund through PayPal (because you didn't go through the AliExpress dispute process for example) your only option is to talk with your payment provider about a charge back or refund.
You'll also want to check the FAQ on how to select good and reliable sellers and products.
I had no choice but to go through PayPal because I was getting nowhere with AliExpress
But did you open the dispute? I have exactly the same cases a few times with obviously wrong tracking number, and i always won disputes. Tho amounts of money were way lower, about $50
Tried to open a dispute. Was getting nowhere
Because you werent able to open a dispute yet. Shouldve waited
Not gonna wait and risk not being able to get my money back
Exactly. People here downvoting common sense is amusing. You know you're being scammed, AE are complicit and rightly so you went over their head to get your refund.
I do the same. Not a chance I'm waiting, chargeback is always the answer. F aliexpress.
You'll get your money, it'll just take time
Yeah PayPal said by the end of December the dispute will be completed
All you had to do is press the return/refunds button. Now you made it so much more complicated
Oh my lord, you know what I forgot you know everything, my apologies. Let me explain further your heinous I ordered two things at the same time, one has the refund button available and this item did not. Also given the fact that the fake tracking number the seller provided had an item similar weight and was expected to deliver in the next few days, I wasn’t going to risk not getting my money with the excuse of “packages shows delivered”
*highness

my guy, if you cant see the returns/refunds button then aliexpress is probably not for you. good luck in life i hope things get better.
Nope, that tab definitely was not there
But it wouldn't have been delivered to your address and you would have had proof in your hand.
Seller told me the item was not able to ship and to apply for a refund. Refund button was not available, told “senior techs” they were not listening.
So, after it froze and Paypal even don't refund it then what will happen? SOL?
That's why it's recommend to pay with a credit card through PayPal, so there's an additional layer of protection.
This sucks man, I'm so sorry to hear about this.
I looked up the seller and it's weird, heaps of customers reporting not receiving their package from this store, almost all US customers. Store opened April 2025. Apparently has an Amazon store too.
It is so strange. I've made literally thousands of orders, zero scams. Many items over $500. I wonder if they target US mostly? Since I'm from Australia.
Edit: every one who said they were scammed by this guy, was a 'ships from United States' item. This might explain why so many of us have no issues - there's something going on with ships from US items...
I didn’t see reviews on this seller. I left a negative one but can’t even see that. I am in the US so when I saw ships from us I thought no issues
Same, I'm in US, just gotta verify and use good sellers
So this is your fault? Got it.
100% lmao I tried to save some money 😂
did you even check the seller? lol
Explain?
Do your due diligence, right?
Hopefully charge back will work.

There's some things you should save money and there's some you shouldn't
Yeah learned that the hard way haha
I just want to clarify here, what's the point to your response?
I am pretty sure even the OP realizes that they probably should have second guessed this product.
But at the end of the day, the OP isn't the one trying to rip people off.
So what are you trying to convey here? Is it how they went about the process of getting a refund? Because if its about getting scammed, I feel like that's a failure on the site itself.
Thank you. I read many posts on how difficult it is to get a refund as well as reached out to customer care multiple times and was getting nowhere and getting no help from them nor was the seller any help either so that’s why I just went ahead and did a charge back
Why are you people always buying from listings with like 0 reviews
I'm going through a similar thing. I ordered a Klipsche soundbar and got a fake usps tracking number. I went to the post office this morning to verify it was a fake number and came home and sent the proof to aliexpress and the seller. Well I was home tonight and amazon showed up with the soundbar new in the box. They wouldn't give it to me because I didn't have the password. The delivery guy said he would contact the buyer and get the password requirement dropped and deliver it tomorrow. I'm expecting the seller to request more money now which I won't pay. I'll be back to square one dealing with aliexpress to try and get a refund. I understand the guy when he said he wasn't getting anywhere with them and I don't hold much hope they got the seller to send me one via Amazon. I'll see what aliexpress says when the seller will likely try and get more money out of me. After this I'm done with aliexpress.
Keep me posted. I hope you get it resolved. I am surprised there’s so much hate on this post.
This situation is #110 on the common scams FAQ.
dude same!!! i made a post recently about a package with a faulty tracking code. it was missing a letter and it wouldnt show up anywhere other than their app, making me think i got scammed. The shop also had bot replies. i tried contacting their customer support and they didnt do anything. made a post here to try and figure something out. today (ironically my package just arrived) someone claiming to be an agent with an account with no posts no nothing dm-ed me telling me to give them my info. i obviously didn’t but someone like my mom would have hahahahahah
Welcome to ScamExpress
My first order arrived with no problems so I thought I’d try again
Just make sure it's a CHOICE product. For those the shipping is handled by AliExpress.
Oh I will keep that in mind

AliExpress support and not the individual sales team is your solution for fastest refund. Tell them it's fake tracking to a different address and AliExpress should return your payment in short order. I've dealt with a few shipping issues that had damaged label and got returned to sender international because the delivery driver couldn't figure out where to take it. But always check reviews and being very suspicious about all transactions is the only way to protect yourself.
I chatted with who I believe to be customer support many times all they tell me is they are escalating it to a senior team. Every response from the senior team was the same automated response then they close the ticket
This possibly can’t be cheaper than just buying the same product on Amazon.
Amazon was almost $100 more
Damn, that’s unfortunate. Be sure to contact your financial institution and request a chargeback, it might take a month or 2 though.
I already filed for one with PayPal. It is gonna take a while but at least I’ll get it back
Glad to hear unfortunate this happened to you.
Thank you. Definitely learn not to use AliExpress again.
