But everything inside his room has this yellowish taint and a coat of tar sticking to it. We also live in a very hot enviroment and there is a ceiling fan in his room, which spreads some of the ashes across everything. I hate going into his room because only a couple of seconds can make me stink like hell.
Back in day we used to collect Star Wars Action Figures together and the Stormtroopers that were in his room all got yellow, i remember using baking soda and vinegar to remove the taint.

The mess aside. One big issue with smokers and homes is how it affects the air ducts and the residue layers in areas you cannot see. These laptops need heavy amounts of airflow. If performance is bad (other than the keyboard) they may want to get a can of air for the fans and everything.

why would you send it anywhere when you can just do it yourself for free and its easy. turn it off. hold it upside down and brush it off with like a tooth brush or something like that. then while upside down still clean with alcohol but not soaking wet, use a semi dry/ damp paper towel or something. takes like 10 minutes if you take your time. dont use forced air. you could use a vacuum with a bristle attachment but i dont know how good that would work if at all.
That is called "lint". That has nothing to do with smoking. Try harder next time. Smoke causes a buildup like on the inside of your cars windshield. That is nothing but lint and dirty air or the Intel logo would be greenish instead of blue. Not to mention around the bottom bezel, it looks like someone spilled something as well.

As someone who smokes, my home and electronics are immaculate so I call BS here. Even when I used to smoke indoors, never would this have occurred. The difference is one person is tidy and the other one is a total mess. That is absolutely laziness and dirtiness combined.
My father in-law continues to smoke a pack a day. He's 93 and I'm worried he might pass away too soon. Can't find any to make him quit, after 80 years of smoking. I'm just ready to give up trying.
