For the last month or so any links to videos (YouTube, Imgur, redgifs, etc) either won’t play through the app or become “sound only”. Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix anyone has found? At this point I’m too stubborn to try out a different app.

  • Also way to stubborn to change. If it’s a video or anything else that doesn’t feel quite right in the app, I just open in browser. Not perfect, but still get to see the content without needing to use a different app. However, I am someone who doesn’t watch many videos on reddit. To me the Reddit video player is garbage, so I try to avoid videos unless they seem really interesting.

  • Same here. Changed with some iOS update somewhere along the line. Haven't found good alternatives and I can't stand the default app.

  • YouTube and imgur has been running well. The videos hosted on reddit play with a black screen like you mention "if" I try to go full screen. Iphone 12 pro max with latest ios.

  • If history is any judge, it will probably just start working again one day. As it stands, yeah, I just click ‘open in Safari’ which is a tad annoying.
