  • The best resolution when you decide a place is not up to your standards and leave is usually a 100% refund plus help finding and paying for similar accommodations. The best resolution when you decide a place is good enough to stay is usually 30% off. You've received better than their usual best.

  • You stayed, you pay.

You don't eat a meal in a restaurant and then say you want it comped because it was so bad.

  • Not only did you stay, you didn't report anything to airbnb.

Frankly from what you have said, some things are irrelevant like the roads. I mean so many places have bad roads with potholes.

1 step is not stairs so I don't see an issue there. If you needed to be certain there were no steps at all for access reasons then you should have asked beforehand.

They don't have to disclose they have dogs but actually do in their bio. The dogs were no danger even if I get that constant barking can be annoying.

The mold sure but again if you had said something to airbnb they would have moved you.

Did it say it had wifi in the listing? If not then why expect it? I'm guessing this is very rural in the mountains so yeah cell service is often spotty. Maybe check next time.

You read bad reviews but ignored them. There were no photos of inside but you ignored that too.

Honestly you are extremely lucky, as in I've never seen it ever lucky, that you have received 50% despite staying and despite not saying anything. I think the person you talked to has screwed up and wouldn't be surprised if someone else contacts you to say that they were mistaken in what was said before. I'd be happy and accept and not push it.

  • Community support isn’t going to offer you the type of resolution you seem to think you can request. You’re not going to get a 100% refund on your reservation as well as a free stay in the future… when you stayed for the entire time you had reserved. If you had left, you’ve got all your money back and they would’ve accommodated you in another rental or hotel. But you don’t get to stay and then they expect them to pay you back in full. If it hadn’t been for the mold, you wouldn’t have received anything back. You could’ve had all of that if you had contacted Airbnb once you arrived and explained to them that you felt unsafe. You chose not to do that. You chose instead, to stay and when you stay, you have to pay. Trust and safety moved you on to the community support group because they were done with you. Not because you’re entitled to a bunch more money and they wanted a different group to give it to you. If you qualified for a 100% refund, that’s what you would’ve received from trust and safety. Tell Community support that you would like someone to investigate the listing and hosts to ensure it’s safe for future guests. That’s a reasonable request. A full refund plus a free trip in the future will get you laughed at.

  • You stayed. You've gotten 50% of that stay refunded. You're done. And very lucky. Staying the entire time and then asking for a refund doesn't pass the red face test.

  • You stayed THREE MONTHS??? Is that correct??

  • You can't get help with problems if you don't communicate them. Most hosts would rather you tell them about issues immediately so they can be fixed rather than wait until after checkout. Getting half back and still wanting more is absurd.

  • You stayed for 3 months, without raising any issues and now you want a refund after the fact? That's sus. It can't have been that bad if you ended up staying for 3 months, right?
