Real. I once was talking to a friend and was like “I find it annoying when coworkers try talking to me at lunch when I have my headphones in and don’t want to engage.” And they were all like “well what if they’re going through something and they have to talk to you? So don’t take that as a personal attack.”
It’s like I’m not but I talk to people all day. My social battery needs recharging. I want to have these 30 minutes just to myself please
I go sit in my car. If I eat at my desk people will come and bother me; if I eat in one of the 'social areas' someone will come bother me. In my car? I can stick on my headphones and ignore the World 100% for a short while!
I agree, and then you're judged by others for being antisocial when it's your break time
Real
Joke’s on them I’m just saving my social battery

The transition from fearing being alone to craving it is the clearest sign that you have officially aged.
I eat alone at work every day - I just can’t sit there listening to pointless chatter.
Funny how the same thing feels totally different depending on the setting and stage in life.
So true
I go sit in my car. If I eat at my desk people will come and bother me; if I eat in one of the 'social areas' someone will come bother me. In my car? I can stick on my headphones and ignore the World 100% for a short while!
Finally, nobody’s judging my weird lunch choices at work
Definitely heading to my car in 20 minutes.
Actually it was like that for both, i was the nerd in the library eating a sandwich and reading.
