It's not the responsibilities, it's the stakes. When I was a kid I had responsibilities. There were chores, school work, after school activities. But if I screwed any of those up I didn't run the risk of losing my job and not being able to support my family.
We all just want you to work until you're too tired to work... and then have your family go into debt keeping you well, and work until they are also too tired to work...
I like being an adult. When I am financially on top of things, life is easier. Work is fine. Being able to do what I want, buy what I like. Being an adult is nice.
I've been making it my goal to get rid of as many responsibilities as possible.
No kids or partner, packed all my dishes but 1 of everything. Including 1 wine glass, coffee mug, travel mug, and jar. Same with plates.
Killed off some subs, and moved to a place with no carpets to keep from having to vacuum.
One day I hope to have the level of responsibilities I had as a teen. Earn money, sleep, eat, and relax.
Ok, quit your job and live off the grid for 6 months. Tell me how that works out for ya. Been there. A lack of purpose and responsibilities ain’t what it’s all cracked up to be.
You will when you’re 92. No matter how bad it gets remember there’s a warm poopy diaper in your future.
How to get there depends.
lol @ depends
Bruh that's either the most optimistic or most terrifying thing I've read today and I can't decide which
yeah, welcome to adulting, it’s all bills, stress and eventually diapers, nothing magical about it
Being an adult is way better than being a kid for me. Yeah the responsibility and obligations suck tho so I get it
I think so too. On my lunch break today I drove to macdonalds on my lunch break and I didnt have to ask. It was pretty lit
Yes. My mom was an a-hole, I’m glad I’m not under her reign anymore
I know what you mean, my dad was pretty hard on us all
Sometimes I feel like im the only adult on reddit who's not depressed.
There’s whole subreddits of posi pop punk kids actually. They’d like ur name in those tbh.
There’s also tons of “hate this town” types of pop punk subs too tho
What subreddits? I could always use some positivity in my life

Exactly this. Also username checks out
Then you can remain Peter pan forever.
No responsibility. No meaning. No rights.
Simply unfulfilled potential.
Yep, we can cancel that show. That asshole never even paid for car insurance.
But the insecurities though?

Grow up
Take it easy man
They got a name for that, Jules. It's called a bum.
For real though, the holidays are fucking hard.
Idc
Oh come on, you can be tired of the responserbiliers Tommy 😂😂
No but fr, this shit sux.
😭
I understand how you feel, adulthood is challenging. Having responbilities such doing laundry can feel tedious.
On your lunch break you say?
Save like crazy and move to a poor country or in the middle of nowhere. Life is hard cause you’re constantly trying to keep up with bills

Every teenager that was in a hurry to move out, regretted it by the 6th month or sooner.
We all wanted to move back in, but that was embarrassing as all Hell.

I hear you OP. Too many responsibilities at times.
Remember when we said “ i want to grow up and be older” 😭😭
Yes there are more responsibilities but more rewards. Life is good, try and enjoy it
What's that like? I've been stressed pretty much my whole life
I just want to go with summer breaks and long holiday breaks without worrying about the PTO bank .
