It's Sri Lanka. The text in front of the bus says "SLTB" (Sri Lanka Transport Board) and "Tangalle" (a town in the southern coast of the island.)
I actually visited Sri Lanka last year and rode a bus to a small town halfway between Colombo and Kandy in an old bus not too dissimilar to this one. It was the most terrifying two-hour bus ride of my life.
Didn't matter that it was raining hard with almost zero visibility on twisting rural mountain roads, the bus driver absolutely made sure the bus was always running at 80-90 kph like he was Sandra Bullock on Speed.
Last time I was in India I rode in a bus with a big hole in the bottom of the radiator. It was a hot day.
They solved the problem by having a little kid sitting on the engine block with a jug full of water. As the bus went hurtling along at about 50mph, he would pour the water into the top of the radiator, then quickly hold the jug under the radiator to catch the water pouring out. Then he would straighten up and pour it back into the top, then he would bend down and catch it pouring out....He did this repeatedly for about an hour. I reckon he was about 9 years old.
The worst is how the smaller/younger girl might have had the wherewithal to jump off if the older/taller woman wasn’t essentially restraining her with no actual plan.
“Stop squirming, travel with me face-first into the jungle”
Problem is that most people who would own something like this would have just enough mechanical ability and be lazy enough to want to figure out how to have to not hold whatever system is in place to keep it going and would just bypass it.
It probably has it. Or had it until it was disabled for convenience.
All two-wheel tractors I have ever seen had either a "key" with a wrist strap (like those outboard motors) or a handle you need to keep down. Maybe they don't in India, however...
Yep. Even if they were to afraid to get inside the circle, a simple light sprint along the direction or rotation should give you enough to grab the handles I feel like....
I'm trying to figure what went wrong here. Farmers in Korea use similar 'tractors', but they look bucolic, motoring down the road at 10 mph. I've own and use the old Troybilt Horse tillers, similar size, but with tines and no towing capacity- a lot of torque though. Did the handle just slip out of his hand, and the weight of the wagon and people in it keep the handles close to ground level?
You can see that he wasn't paying attention and drifting off the road and at 4s in has to make a sharp turn to avoid the rock outcropping. To make that turn, he has to throw the tiller so hard to the left, that it slips out of his hands.
Anyone else notice how steep that cliff is that they went off? You can barely see in the second video just how steep that cliff is. Im assuming no survivors in terms of those that stayed on. WOW
It's a two-wheel tractor. Very common across most parts of Asia and in parts of Europe since they perform basically the same work as four-wheel tractors except they're way cheaper and easier to maintain.
I like how the bus just drove away at the end. Nothing abnormal here
The dude that jumped off the bus to help, expecting others to do the same and the bus to wait, then vvvvvvvVVVVrooom… hey wait…shit.
Was that just some dude or was that the bus driver and now the bus is also driverless?
I’m a trend setter!
I turned on volume expecting yakety sax
I was disappointed
Not my circus, not my monkeys
The (unshown) intermediary between The Flinstones and The Jettsons
That probably isn't abnormal there. It looks like South East Asia, so...

A young 20 years old might interpret that last paragraph differently
More like south asia, so India, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh.
A total number of 0 brain cells were used.
How the two women standing there like on the titanic lol
At least everything worked out OK!
The worst is how the smaller/younger girl might have had the wherewithal to jump off if the older/taller woman wasn’t essentially restraining her with no actual plan.
“Stop squirming, travel with me face-first into the jungle”
Not to victim blame but, why tf did they just sit there
Those victims deserve some blaming.
I'm disabled, but I would have jumped off while it was turning in place. Better a broken bone than getting thrown over or into cliff.
Same lol. 0 survival instinct shown
Or just uhh, jump over to the driver seat and take control? One of them looked like they were already half way there
Right like?! At that point, just get off 💀
It's like usa the ride
Ah yes. This small stick will stop it
All agricultural machinery like this should have a "dead man's handle" so that if you are not holding it go-mode, it stops.
Problem is that most people who would own something like this would have just enough mechanical ability and be lazy enough to want to figure out how to have to not hold whatever system is in place to keep it going and would just bypass it.
Something tells me none of these people would be able to figure that out
I mean... They probably did?
It looks like a little tractor rigged to be the motor for a carriage.
They probably override the dead man's switch by tying it off in their weird tractor reins, or whatever you want to call them.
It probably has it. Or had it until it was disabled for convenience.

Who needs something fancy like that when you can just throw a branch in its general direction instead?
I think it just made it angrier
Small stick did FA lol 😆 well... back to the drawing (a blank) board i guess.
Well shoot. The first small stick didn't work, perhaps another small stick will do it.
Why do people always try to stop it from outside the circle?! If you just go inside the loop it’s so much easier to keep pace.
Yep. Even if they were to afraid to get inside the circle, a simple light sprint along the direction or rotation should give you enough to grab the handles I feel like....
I looked for this comment and here it is ....2 hours in, with no upvotes.
People don't understand basic physical reality.
The fact this was luckily on a section of road with cameras 🤯
Luckily for us… Not really for anyone involved.
Dude climb on the back of the trailer then climb over
He couldn't lift his legs, his skirt was too tight...
He failed to gird his loins. https://content.artofmanliness.com/uploads/2014/10/SOTW-Gird-Up-Your-Loins-1.jpg
Dumbheads.
I don't know why but this comment made me laugh way more than it should have 😂
Because it is true?
And here we see why kill switches are important.
More importantly - simple problem solving skills
I'm sure that contraction had all the latest and greatest safety features.
contraption
Yep. That, too.
Reminds me of this classic, in my opinion one of the funniest videos of all time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KvxOuC7Bhc (make sure to watch with sound)
You are so right, my friend 👍
whoulda thunk that driving the rototiller could go awry
They were hard to find growing up since the motors were so well suited for building homemade go-karts.
It has a very impressive turning circle.
I knew the stick wasn't going to work but I'm surprised at how much worse it made everything.
Hahaha that stick move was super smert
Full of incompetence, but the dude in the green takes the cake. 🤦🏽
Merry-go-round: Indian edition
Needs Benny Hill music
Red bus just gonna keep on bussing
Well it's already 3 days behind schedule
Let's keep throwing some feeble branch at it 🤣
Was that thing being pulled by a rototiller?
Yes. Growing up, broken ones were valuable since the motor configuration is perfect for making go-karts compared to lawnmower motors.
Ok You learn something every day. Thanks
The drivers are complete idiots
India
The new Sri Lanka-based Three Stooges film looks good. I thought they'd have a hard time replacing Moe, Larry and Curly. I stand corrected.
Just missing some Benny Hill music 😁
I played Benny Hill music in my mind.

It's probably been tampered to go full throttle without any input.
Ah, now that you say that, I see what you mean.
You can see that he wasn't paying attention and drifting off the road and at 4s in has to make a sharp turn to avoid the rock outcropping. To make that turn, he has to throw the tiller so hard to the left, that it slips out of his hands.
I hope they were okay.....
Oh well, going to have to find some new wives now.
Queue in the theme song for "The Benny Hill Show".
Come on TARS!
Anyone else notice how steep that cliff is that they went off? You can barely see in the second video just how steep that cliff is. Im assuming no survivors in terms of those that stayed on. WOW
They left the stick in the middle of the road. Yay! Another accident.
Cant they hop into the cart, slowly walk towards the motor?
Idiots just stay on the merry-go-round for some reason.
Sustained chaos.
Sadly this only works with YT videos, but still a handy bookmark for ones like this: https://bennyhillifier.com
Benny hill song here plz
Similar predicament: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBzhk4ljRyc
Only in India! And maybe Pakistan.
Sri Lanka
I am a horrible person because I literally laughed till I cried. It's perfection : the women standing, the guy with the branch, the ending !
Where's was this?
Sri Lanka
The bus driver is my hero
Nothing to see here.. move along
What a time to be alive.
Dammit!
“How do you stop this crazy thing?”
They had so many chances to figure it out... round 1 round 2 round 3... failed them all.
This is why I don’t drive a rotary hoe
That looks like a fun amusement park ride.
Where's Bugs Bunny, the Roadrunner, and all the other idiots?
Why Didn’t They Jump😭
While Yakkity Sax is appropriate, You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) by Dead or Alive would be very apropos.
He's rollin' with his ride or dies.
Why is no one on the cart doing anything about it?
Surely, while it is revolving, that is the safest its going to be. The last thing you want to do is straighten it out so that it runs away from you?
Cameras are EVERYWHERE now.
Legend has it it's still spinning.
Yakety Sax starts playing
Don't worry guys, I have a stick!
Benny Hill theme going on in my head
I'm seeing a jet ski ripcord in his near future.
Benny Hill
That bus just casually ignoring the laws of physics, love it.
Physics? Nah, that's just peak cat energy right there.
If only they new the game side of that circle was moving slower than the outside :))
Benny Hill music intensifies
Chaos in the studio? Looks like a wild animation party!
So the two guys on the back had the agency to jump off before it drove off the cliff but not do much else.
Haha, yakety sax on keyboard? That's pure chaotic gold.
The other fail is the squashed aspect ratio.
Why does it look like a tractor, with wheelbarrow handles, on the body of an ATV connected to the bed of a passenger truck? 😭
It's a two-wheel tractor. Very common across most parts of Asia and in parts of Europe since they perform basically the same work as four-wheel tractors except they're way cheaper and easier to maintain.

Nah, this isn't in north america.
