If you look at these wreaks, they have no standing rigging, deck hardware and the cabin is open to the elements. They have already been stripped of anything valuble. In the other hand, if you want a sailboat to restore the market is filled with boats that have potential and available for a fraction of the cost new.
This reminds me of the Gulf Coast area (Louisiana and Mississippi) post-Katrina. I used drive Highway 90 from Gulfport MS to New Orleans, LA and back for work. I would see boats, cars, trucks, campers and all kinds of other debris along the roads, it was really kind of eerie.
I’ve seen dozens of junkyards for cars and trucks - never even thought about boats.
whats theoretically stopping you from loading one of these up on a trailer and renovating it?
You have to fight a family of wet raccoons and that everything inside the boat is either trashed or mold.
I figure that can't be true for all of them.. right?

Abandoned boats have negative value.
The cost of making them usable is far more than buying a used boat is already usable condition.
You'll spend five or six thousand dollars fixing those boats up while you can get a decent used boat for $1k to $2k, and often for free.
Such a waste of money.
Is it legal to take an abandoned boat with the intention of registering it and putting it back in the water?
and fairly modern boats ...

Anyone fancy pulling a boat heist?
Camden, NJ?
Are you sure that that’s an abandoned boatyard? It looks like the aftermath of flood or hurricane to me.🤔
