• I think it's cool. At least the one in black (gold always looks tacky to me on these kinds of fittings).

The price is ridiculous to me but that doesn't mean it's tasteless.

there's definitely an appeal to it in the right setting, but it honestly looked and even felt like something out of playmobil in the showroom. the white finish did it zero favors sitting awkwardly amongst more normal faucet designs

    [deleted]

no, I would not want this in my own home even if they paid me (maybe if they paid me $7000). I filmed this because I thought it was hilariously absurd. nothing about it actually appeals to me personally, not my taste even for free

Yeah I kinda dig it. If it was like 100 bucks I might even get it if I needed a kitchen faucet.

I was a plumbers apprentice for several years before realizing that I had a fear of confined spaces and couldn't continue in that career field.

With that experience in hand, this faucet would give me nightmares at night. There are so many points of failure on that thing that repairing it would be awful. Not to mention the cost of replacement parts would be very expensive.

    Edit: grammar

I can't imagine the points of failure being anymore than the faucets with the sprayer attachments, just fancier looking.

It’s a spring loaded cam with a tube running through it. Only extra point of failure is the joint, which would not be difficult to solve

I like it. I kinda wish the hose was exposed and not encased.

  • Jesus, they also have $150 cutting boards and $1,250 ice buckets. I think the taste and execution are fine the prices are just delusional. --- edit --- for those of you saying you'd pay that for a nice cutting board, this is $150 for 18" bamboo I'm serious

aren't most handmade cutting boards $150 though?

(seriously, I've been looking for a beautiful, handcrafted cutting board for some time. Like mixed woods and lovely patterns and a well around the side for juicy things. If anyone has a lead, lmk!)

Thats cheap for a handmade cutting board. My dad made many, mostly for fun, and between materials and labor (calculating based on minimum wage) it would cost $300. Thats for 0 "profit".

yep. I would pay that much for a quality piece, but my bamboo ones are still doing ok, so I can't currently justify replacing them. But I keep an eye out!

I highly recommend visiting a local craft fair and supporting a local artisan. Etsy used to be a decent place for that but so much of it is mass produced now.

I've made things like that, it's pretty easy if you have a full woodshop. Don't spend too much on it.

Yeah the cutting board is the most reasonable item. That's a good price if it's handmade and end grain.

    This isnt hand made.

If i was a real chef I'd easily pay at least 150 for a nice custom cutting board.

honestly, my favorite is the cookie sheet for upwards of $300 that sits in the sink. why does someone need a baking tray to fit their sink? I highly doubt the people with enough money to buy any of these things from this company are so lacking in work space and countertop that they need to utilize every millimeter of sink space for not sink things

    https://havensmetal.com/collections/sink-essentials/products/stainless-baking-sheet

Yeah that's just straight up IKEA

  • Why is it 7000 !?

Small run for designer homes. They legit cost that much with the effort and time involved. Personally I’d stick with tried and true mass produced models.

I get where your coming from, but I think 7000 is still a huge stretch. I've worked in fab shops in the US that you could contract make this for probably half that or less. Especially with the onset of affordable c&c. Maybe 7000 if they're like forging the metal or something but I fully expect most of the pipes and hoses are off the shelf parts. I think the 7000$ tag is for the Instagram flex.

It's 100% for people who have so much money they just want to be able to show off their faucet and casually mention it cost $7k.

They will never miss a chance to mention it.

My step-step-great uncle and his $22k couch can confirm this. The 8 days I spent there as a kid was eye opening as to what random ordinary things the rich are willing to overpay for.

it could be $8000 if you play your cards right (over half the finishes bump up another thousand buckaroos)

"The poor man always pays twice" - proverb

don't worry mate i'll still be coming out well and truly ahead after the second one

I don't think that can honestly apply here. none of us are saying we are buying $5 faucets off temu that we'll have to replace before it's even delivered. but we sure as hell are buying normal priced faucets that do exactly as they're designed without throwing money in the wind. I paid under $200 over six years ago for a touchless faucet from home depot that has needed zero upkeep and works perfectly still to this day. and that was more expensive than I needed because I chose it for its design style over others so it would match my kitchen. just because you can afford something doesn't mean it's an intelligent investment. it's a faucet. you bought it because you wanted to, not because it performs remarkably better at *checks notes* letting water simply follow gravity and pressure and flow out of a hollow tube

  • In your apartment with the view of the parking lot and the freeway 30 feet away. Magnificent.

this was filmed in a showroom. I did not (read: can not) buy a $7000 faucet

  • Needlessly complicated and stupid money. Perfect lol

  • I really thought you were exaggerating the price, but it's actually that expensive... wow

  • I outfit multi million dollar/euro architectural homes -- this would def be considered in bad taste, pretty tacky. The price isn't out there given how elaborate it is, but kind of ambitious since Haven isn't a prestige brand, more of a craft brand

Otoh typical faucets from CEA will run $2-5k. Even Toto can run into that range for their top end designer lines

  • I like it but the price is insane.

  • There is no reason for that thing to be $7000

  • Do you have to give it a handy every time you want water or is that optional?

It should be tug operated like an udder lol.

  • Adam LZ asked for it 🙄

I think Matt made him do it

True… that dude upsold everything in that house. Must be nice

  • let the rich spend their money on faucets they dont need instead of sex trafficking.

  • Well, it's interesting

  • I immediately notice that handle as the exact same one that's on the faucet in my bathroom, except it's white and gold instead of silver, this could just be a coincidence, but it definitely looks like a cheap part slapped on something slightly more expensive, classic Cadillac type shit

I thought you meant my hand and I had to double check I still had my hand and no one creepy had chopped it off to display in their bathroom

  • It’s cool. I definitely don’t think it’s worth $7,000. Most of it is just a normal faucet. I could see this being like $300. That’s still expensive but I can’t imagine it actually needing to cost that much.

  • It's a clever idea, but adds an extra moving part and some extremely difficult to clean surfaces inside the wheel.

I don't think you care how stuff is cleaned if you buy 7000$ faucet

  • Looks like fancy pcv pipe

  • How much for the highway view from the kitchen?

I know you weren't asking for this, but in this specific case actually probably nothing or at least not a lot. the showroom this was filmed in has been there since 1984 and I imagine they just outright own the land and building. the company (not the makers of the faucet) has been in business since 1923

Oh, it's a showroom! I thought this was an actual home where someone had this view.

  • Its for people with so much money that they have to resort to bragging about the most frivolous things they have spent outrageous amounts of money on.

“Oh, you have a $7000 faucet? Hm-hm-hmm.. well, i just spent $450,000 on a japanese tub that washes me. Hm-hm-hmm-hmmmm…”

    ….. [sips tea]..

Edit: hyman human washing machine: https://interestingengineering.com/innovation/human-washing-machine-goes-on-sale

but why would I pay money when I can have panic attacks for free?

  • 7000 pieces of gaudy

  • Sometimes you have to make an expensive item, and then convince rich people that it is desirable. Maybe easier now with social media.

  • Outside of the price, this is actually pretty cool

  • It seems like it would be irritating to keep clean.

Of course, if you’re buying a $7000 faucet I imagine you’re paying someone else to worry about that.

  • So.... It doesn't actually do anything different or better, it just looks different? For $6200? For some people with that kind of disposable income I could see that, but not me. Even if I had it this isn't really up my alley, but I wouldn't call it tasteless either so....🤷

  • If this was 120 bucks I'd legit buy one.

My dumbfuck builder decided to line up the hot water pipe outlet directly below the countertop faucet hole... so you know when you pull out the faucet nozzle, the "egg" weight catches on the pipe and the nozzle doesn't retract back. This faucet in the video solves this issue.

  • This would be fantastic for some people with mobility issues or maybe they have trouble with the initial grip of the hose are possibly pulling it down.

And $70 is very accessible for everyone.

    …oh wait, 7,000? Fuck that.

  • If I could make stupid shit rich people would buy, I would. Good on the designer for taking advantage

  • This is not a bad concept but honestly it should be made to stretch a lot further, and it should cost $75.

  • How very odd, and 32 finishes!

  • Nice $300 faucet.

  • I'm sorry, I think you misspelled $70.00. No one is stupid enough to think this is actually worth $7,000.00. right? RIGHT!?

  • I like that the hose can't get stuck on stuff under the counter

  • Looks cool, but I'd probably manage to break it.

  • I think the mechanism is artful, but the finish does not scream $7k. It would have to be real gold and marble or something.

  • Just looks big and easy to break which is probably the two things I LEAST want in a faucet

  • It looks like they took a clear view screen from a ship and just added a hose and faucet head.

  • Nope. Not my taste. I don’t care what it cost I wouldn’t want it for $20

  • Its cool, but thats a display of how much money you can waste

  • Commissions aside, art is a product of inspiration. No one asks for it.

  • I'm pretty sure someone asked for it because otherwise they would not have installed it.
