I’m so glad you don’t mind not having a dad. We have friends who are both moms with kids and their kids always seem to genuinely think having two moms is an upgrade, so I didn’t worry too much about having kids. Joke’s on me, my first kid’s first sentence was “I want a daddy” 😭
Any tips? I mean, I’ve talked with him a lot about it, and he has some surrogate type dads in his life; he gets special time with his uncles and grandpas for instance. But I’m open to ideas. We went with a donor who is open ID at 18, and we are in touch with a number of half siblings and have met one of them.
Not OP but I saw a video where the moms asked the kid why they said they wanted a dad and the kid said something about wanting to go camping (which they’d seen done with a dad on a tv show)
Not sure where your kid is at in terms of being able to answer abstract questions like that but could be that they’re conflating having a dad with some other experience that someone of any gender can give them!
