• That last photo tho. So sassy.

    An angry hiss, perhaps!

    Or yelling "MOM!!"

  • They just cozy like that :)

  • I want to touch his velvety hydrophobic gecko skin so badly

  • Cute little guy. We have a leopard gecko and they're great pets.

  • geckos are the cutest little creatures

  • That thing has so much sass

  • Pic #3

    Hamming it up.

  • It looks like a skinny leopard gecko but those like the ground and are much cuter. This guy is arboreal though so he's adapted to climbing which is more like the crested gecko. It kinda looks like a cross of the two, but favoring the leopard gecko shape. Leo's burrow so they curl up wherever the heat is best, while crested are more like leathery frogs with tails, they drop their tails easily and they don't grow back like Leo's, and they don't so easily that they often end up just like leathery frogs. Leo's don't wanna drop that big tail with all their fat storage unless necessary, and they grow it back suggesting this was a good adaptation on the ground the cresteds didn't need as much in the trees.

And yes leopard geckos do that scream thing, but it's a yawn when they do it. Geckos can't actually scream but they can hiss and growl and will not hesitate to do so well before they are mad enough to do anything about it.

  • These aren't as difficult to keep in captivity as simply having different care requirements than their relatives (relatively low temperatures, very high humidity, and demineralized water among other things). Not the easiest geckos to keep, but nowadays they are bred in captivity in small numbers on a regular basis.
