What are the fuzzy bits on their mid and hind legs? Just substrate material that stuck to them?

    18 points GeorgiaBeetles

Just the wet tissue they came in, ripped by their tarsi

It reminds me of those long tipped boots people wear in Mexico and Texas.

My son saw these and fell in love. What kind of care do they need and where can they be found?

They will be sold on Jamesbeetlefarm in a few months since from what ik, his stock is all late L3 and close to pupation. However, this species do not live long as adults, and there are other beetles that are similarly impressive but lives longer available on his website and others. If you’d like, you can check out Coleoptera Corner discord server on my profile and get access to many vendors and offers etc

Do you have suggestions on beetles that live longer by chance? We are just starting to look into them. Thank you I will check out the site and the discord.

I definitely recommend Dynastes Hercules Hercules or stag beetles in the Dorcus genus for longevity and impressiveness
