Does anyone else just get extremely bored on their adderall? I find myself being bored when my meds kick in and I dont really know what to do to combat that? Its just like nothing interests me and I dont really have a drive to do anything. Sometimes even when I have a task I need to do, i just still feel bored. Does anyone else experience this? If so how do you combat it?

in my experience, this happens to me sometimes. i have inattentive adhd and mainly struggle with executive dysfunction & initiating tasks. my meds help it, but i’ve learned that if i know i have a task i need to do i have to start said task before it kicks in. otherwise, i can just sit on my phone all day feeling slightly agitated/bored that im not doing anything, but feeling stuck and like i can’t do said task.
This makes sense. I tend to take mine, play on my phone while i wait for it to kick in, and then find that the only thing I want to do is mess around with my phone. But if I take it and I am forced to immediately start working on whatever I am supposed to be doing before it kicks in, it works so much better.
Have you discussed this with your prescribing physician? Look, I hate when people make comments like this. But it sounds like it might just not be the right medication to mesh with your particular neurochemistry and a different med might be in order. Sometimes it takes some trial and error.
Ive tried alot of different medications, this one is the one that worked best for me but ever since 2024 the meds just havent been the same
Also yes I've discussed it with my pyschiatrist and he said that it could be ive gained a tolerance to the meds, but im on the max dose so there isn't much that can be done there except switching medicines
