Which short shifter did you go with? I got the ebay special when I got my car but haven't installed it after hearing people say the shifts are too short
Def need some getting used to.. Going from 4 to 5 felt kinda sorta similar from 4 to 3 which was really scary at first but quickly gotten used to it after my drive home from work.. but I hear ya though, def wish we could get a feel before installing cause undoing everything will be a lot of work.
I actually had Porsche OEM short shifter in my boxster when I bought it - didn’t like it at all - very hard to shift especially when cold. It’s possible I’m just too weak 😀
Does it really matter at all? I have a knob that is just wood with no markings, ala 917. I didn’t pay attention to them to begin with and I certainly don’t miss them now
That kinda works with the tan leather interior 👍

Looks great!

I went for a numeric and quite like that….
I like the shift knob - looks cool…
Yea my short shifter does feel a bit stiff but I thought I just needed to add some grease to the joints?
Short shifter mod is amazing highly recommend it. Not sure about the wooden nob tho
What did you buy? I was going to try and make a knob myself and engrave it. But I need one that will work with the leather and install with thread.
Maybe you can buy just the adapter from the seller from whom I bought it from. The adapter is a separate purchase from the knob:

Love the wood. Very Carrera GT. Agree on the clearcoat, but Did you make or buy?
Love the 917 style shift knob! Where'd you get it?!
Ebay! Highly recommend this seller. You do have to buy an adapter which is an added cost. Pretty expensive tbvh but I think it’s worth it

Thanks - yeah, that's not cheap, but the other ones I've seen have been higher than that
To last, that knob needs a durable clear coating or you may lose the markings from wear motion.
I actually prefer the wear as it shows that I use the car.
The engraving will be lost.
I’m perfectly fine with it.
