I love the 3ds but with it being a legacy console there’s no new games coming out on it. Do you ever worry about running out of games for the 3ds?
I recently starting playing FE awakening again and enjoying it the second time so I’m hoping there’s enough games to last me a long time!
Did your 3ds kill all your other consoles?
I meant I don’t want my 3ds to become obsolete because I have no more games to play on it
You have the entirety of the GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, DS, and 3DS libraries available to play. No, you will not run out of games to play lol. You may run out of games that genuinely interest you, but you will not run out of games completely.
Also NES, SNES and several non Nintendo home consoles. There are enough games to last a lifetime on the 3DS.
I totally forgot it could play GBA games too. I was thinking I need to buy a GBA console lol
Check out the rg34xx. It’s an amazing little thing if you want a dedicated gba handheld without the pain of the old console and pricey games etc.
There is other games than the ones which came with the eshop, was sold in stores
It's already long obsolete, you don't have to run out of games for that to happen.
Not really because there’s plenty of DS titles too
As long as Animal Crossing New Leaf continues to exist, I'm set.
I haven’t played it yet and about to set sails
This one is my favorite of all the animals crossing games
It's probably my favorite too, the Gamecube original is my 2nd favorite.
The DS one was also very good. Animal Crossing's library on 3DS is peak.
Is that wild world? I so need to get that game. I don’t love horizons as much for some reason
Wild World it is indeed! And yeah biggest issue with New Horizons is that it's Animal Crossing. Without the daily restrictions it would've been a fantastic simulator. Game is still fun in multiplayer tho!
"There are over 1800 games released for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems"
Even if you play 1/4 of that, its 450 games.
If you average 50 hours per game (which is pretty low), that's 22500hs. 937 days of nonstop gaming.
If you play an average of 5 hours per day, that's 4500 days, which is more than 12 years.
Don't worry, you will run out of interest before that, or even die.
And that's before you consider all the DS, GBA and GB games you can play on it.
Realistically theres no chance of me playing the entire library. I doubt I'll even play the entire main line library (Kirby Mario Zelda the super popular stuff). If you ever reach that point especially if youre downloading games i think you've well gotten your money's worth even after just 10 or so games
You'd only run out of games if you were completing 12-15 games a day, every day.
Idk if it has much of a homebrew scene but seeing as they're about the easiest console to soft mod, you could look into that, the old DS had a pretty good homebrew scene. Maybe in time you could make your own 3DS game.
I'm not sure what you're asking here. No console has an infinite number of games. The only system that has an infinite number of those is the PC.
I mean if you're not too picky in terms of genre there are hundreds of games worth playing on the 3ds and a lot of the better 3ds games tend to be very long.
Hell the Monster Hunter games alone could combine for well over 1000 hours. Animal Crossing: New Leaf takes several hundred hours to do everything. Both Dragon Quest games take close to 100ish hours to fully beat. There are 5 Fire Emblem games (if we split Fates in three) that are each dozens of hours. Several Etrian Odyssey games (plus the Persona Q spinoffs) that are all very long. Fantasy Life is also very long. The mountain of SMT games. All the Picross games. The mountain of Zelda games. Xenoblade Chronicles, Tales of the Abyss, all the Mario related games. I didn't even mention Pokemon yet.
I mean this is the thing with any legacy console. Luckily the 3DS and by extension the DS has an AMAZING game library. If you count gameboy games via emulation then you can’t really run out of things to play
It's not like it's my only console, so not at all.
I haven't "run out" of GameCube or Gameboy games yet. There's years' worth of games and plenty I'll play over and over.
Not really, I think there's plenty of games with a ton of replay value, like the Zelda games, and with a modded console you could get hundreds of (Pokémon mostly *cough cough*) rom hacks and other emulation, even the og Mario 64! I got all my beloved Game Boy Advance games in there, hundreds of hours of fun still to come!
I definitely make sure to exhaust a game before moving on, for this reason. I don’t want to blast through them.
I sill have SNES games I’m getting around to playing.
No there hundred of good 3ds games
Absolutely not, thats crazy
Your 3ds will stop working before you run out.
I think you'll be left wanting to have more time especially if you go for 100% completion on some of these games
Lol you’re right I don’t even have time to play games usually why am I worried about running out of games
It's an understandable thought for sure 😂 I've had it too! But then I remember there's probably more games than hours I've got and that idea keeps me calm. Not to mention all the games you'll replay every once in a while
Not really.
The 3DS is but one of many consoles I own. My backlog contains about 100+ games, still counting, so I'll never really run out of games, especially with newer games coming out all the time.
Even if there comes a day were specifically all of my 3DS games are finished, that doesn't mean it's the end. Some games I may have enjoyed so much I want to replay them, or I might discover games I never heard of before and buy those etc.
If anything, I'd be proud of myself if I were to accomplish finishing all of my 3DS games.
If you include DS games the library is about 3000 games. If you average 4 hours a game and can manage 8 hours of gaming a day that’s 1500 days of gaming or about 4 years of nonstop gaming if you don’t take off for holidays.
Definitely not, theres still so much I haven’t played and my library only has 100 apps in it (obviously thats counting stuff like the daily log but you get my point). With third party titles too I feel like I have the opposite problem, I’ll have too much to chose from
I mean... I'm no more worried about this for the 3DS than I am for any other platform I have. I already have a large backlog, there's no way I'd be able to play every game that exists on a platform.
I replay games infinitely. So that's never a problem for me.
The fun part about playing older games is that once you play all of the greats on a system (there are probably 100+ on the 3DS) you get to start digging into the lesser known games and uncover hidden gems
You can re play games
No, because I play monster hunter. So I'll be playing MH3U and MH3U like forever without finishing them.... Still I have many other games.
Not really. I’m actually looking forward to completing my curated collection. Plenty of DS and, subsequently, GBA games to play as well.
