Currently, about 1/4 or their population are foreigners (just looked it up), the locals aren't having any kids, and most foreigners are having quite a few.
Will the whole country change due to the influence of foreigners? Or will we end up with a Scandinavian country filled with foreigners that act like a bunch of Svens?
Edit: fellas, foreigners ain't the same as Arabs. Sure, lots of those too in sweeden, but there's also plenty of Latinos, Spaniards, Polish people, and other groups that might also influence the country with their cultures, languages, and ethnicities.
If I remember correctly (also looked it up yesterday what a coincidence !) there's no concrete statistic on where these foreigners come from, with most coming from nations like Poland as well as Syria. For all we know, it could just be that only a quarter of the foreign born people in Sweden are Arabs and the rest are Europeans.
Notice that I didn't talk about Arabs, I just said foreigners. Of course there's people from other places. But those people also might influence their traditions, culture, food, languages...
There's also plenty of Latinos and Spaniards!
I think that Sweeden is gonna end up becoming a melting pot of all of those cultures and the Swedish identity is probably gonna change quite a lot.

There are civilizations and countries within them are much closer than they are to outsiders. Pretending like Korea and Portugal are similar because they had contacts throughout history and therefore were all related is some postmodern, post nationalist bullshit. That's normal and we have to make peace with it. Sweden might be a bit forward in this process, but second demographic transition spares no one and all of the countries will end up at the same place sooner or later unless they go full Afghanistan, and even then it's questionable. We can work on integrating the immigrants and keep raising retirement age but no way we are increasing amount of kids enough to make a difference

Well it was over a decade ago that I was there, so I couldn’t tell you what areas of the city I went into. The point I’m making is that cities should ideally represent the historic people of a country. When they reach a level where certain areas are made up of different cultures and identities then it could lead to issues of cultural alienation and resentment.
