That’s crazy determination. I didn’t get my first synapse on my iron until ~1100kc and I was already crashing out. Sure, the xp is good but the kills are mind numbingly boring and SOO slow without demonbane weapons. I can’t imagine killing six thousand of these things to get that first synapse.
Nah it’s not. 12x droprate here happens to 1/170k people, so even on claw there might be other ppl that dry. And not all 12x droprates are created equal. If something has a 1/2 droprate and you go 12x dry, it has a 1/224 chance of happening, or like… 1 in 16 million? But you can farm a 1/2 droprate pretty fast. Someone probably goes x12 dry on a 1/2 droprate every few days or so in this game, when you think about it.
The worst thing is that with a 1/5k droprate (like say, zombie scrolls) your odds of going x12 dry don’t change much from at a 1/500 droprate (1/162k instead), cause your odds of being Nx dry tend toward like… 1/eN as your droprate gets smaller? So with quasi-certitude, I can tell you that if this game keeps being played by people who try to clog, you’ll eventually have a player going x12 dry on salvaging dragon barrel and they’ll need to do like 240k salvages to see it lmao.

They mean 12x is very rare for an item specifically - probably the only case for synapses. But if you account for every item in the game, 12x dry probably happens somewhat frequently

Claw is a different item. Droprate and kc is all that's relevant
