• REMINDER: Bigotry Showcase posts are banned.

Due to an uptick in posts that invariably revolve around "look what this transphobic or racist asshole said on twitter/in reddit comments" we have enabled this reminder on every post for the time being.

Most will be removed, violators will be shot temporarily banned and called a nerd. Please report offending posts. As always, moderator discretion applies since not everything reported actually falls within that circle of awful behavior.

  • Gabe Newell: “we don’t even have to rerelease our classics the modding community keeps them alive.”

Chad Howard: “Here’s Skyrim definitive edition remastered. Elder Scrolls VI is 15 years away. “

“Also we’re updating Fallout 4 again and breaking all of your mods, plus some of the base game for good measure.”

I'm at a point where I'm not just waiting for mod authors to catch up with the newest update, I'm waiting for Bethesda to fix the newest update and then waiting for mod authors to catch up. I would have far less problems with the Anniversary update if it didn't need multiple more updates just to fix what it broke, like how does that ship.

  • It sucks just like the elder scrolls V

There's also a DLC that lets you play elder scrolls V on a dwemer computer in the elder scrolls VI. If you install the DLC we've made sure that it would not only break all your mods on elder scrolls VI but also your other games as well, like minecraft and fallout.

don't forget there's a mandatory horse armour paid DLC as a joke about how we messed up one time when doing testing with DLC

  • "Welcome again to the magical world of Tamriel, in an experience so rich and detailed, you will have to quicksave before entering any new zone or building due to the risk of game crashes and data file corruption."

You made the mistake of quicksaving. Those cause save corruption in Skyrim. Even loading a save causes save corruption, that's why the current practice is to load a save from a fresh game start only.

  • Es6 will a lot of jank that'll be clowned on

I will have 1000 hours on it within a month or so

Dawg is really going to compress spacetime in order to get more hours in Es6. Bethesda fans never cease to amaze me

If we told yall the next fallout game is actually out already but only on a wayward moon in the alpha centauri system, we'd have FTL spacetravel within a year

i modded the game to allow myself to play it faster than real time

I'll have the PC and xbox on at the same time

There are less than 800 hours in a month

If you're not double fisting TESVI on two separate monitors then what are you even doing?

    maybe for YOU

  • And yet, I will play ESVI when it comes out

  • not you, Morrowind, you've never done anything wrong in your life, we know this and we love you

Morrowind fans when the game looks like ass, plays like ass and is overall ass

(It's me, I'm Morrowind fan unfortunately)

While I too like it, it also made sense to me when someone claimed that Morrowind was made by a team of people who were good or at least decent writers first and game devs second.

Defenetly, the game is wonky af, but it's by far the best ("modern") elder scrolls rpgwise

I mean, depending on your definition the most recent mainline title isn't an RPG at all, while Oblivion can be seen as taking the first steps in that direction, simplifying mechanics and trading in writing complexity for a more cinematic story-telling and voice-acting.

the gameplay is amazing once you realize ordinary combat/trade/etc is for suckers and you can instead wildly exploit every game mechanic (which the devs are actively fine with)

morrowind mfs when the directions to the quest objective make no fucking sense

They don't build em like they used to

Morrowind fans when they try to hit someone with a baseball bat and it phases through their head (it missed)

I'm not touching you I'm not touching you I'm not touching lalala I'm not touching you

  • Es5 came out 14 years ago, and in that time Bethesda has released one ok game (fallout 4) one bad game (fallout 76) and a mediocre at best game (starfield).

Why do we think es 6 will be good?

I think "mediocre at best" is the most positive description of Starfield I've ever heard

I will genuinely never understand the hate boner everyone has for Starfield. Every complaint you can make about it applies equally or more to every other Bethesda game, and it has the most fun gameplay in the series by far.

gameplay of fast travel to planet, walk for 3 minutes, shoot 5 dudes, fast travel again, turn in quest, repeat

You know that using fast travel is your choice, right?

youre so right, instead let me get a loading screen to enter my ship, loading screen to take off from the planet, loading screen to leave the system, loading screen to land on a planet, and a loading screen to leave my ship before i start to walk for 3 minutes and then do it all over again

Again, complaint you can make about every Bethesda game ever made.

I dont think anyone expectes Something good tbh

Depends on your definition of good. Fallout 4 wasn't particularly great for people who prefer New Vegas' direction, but the average Skyrim fan seemed to enjoy it enough for it to be successful.

For TES:VI, I think the question for most people will just be whether it's semi-functional at launch (unlike 76) and has enough content to keep players engaged (unlike Starfield). The established setting will make the latter easier so I think it'll come down to just how unplayable the game will be before patching and mod support.

Fallout 76 is apparently pretty good these days? I dont fuck with mmo-types so idk, but people sing its praises

Some of the biggest complaints about starfield should be solved by having one large open world, not cities and procedural generation connected by animations and loading screens. Also the story kinda blows but I never finished it, so maybe it actually gets interesting.

World building and exploration is what they do best, and a disconnected world just didn't work for them. TES6 might not be amazing, but it will at least be better

Also the story kinda blows but I never finished it, so maybe it actually gets interesting.

Don't bother, the story gets real fucking bad at the end.

  • Okay but like, I will get to mod better lesbian slop a cool little house for my character.

  • Year is 2189, Bethesda still has loading screens while entering buildings.

  • Half Lfe: Alyx is apparently amazing according to all eight people with the right hardware

  • A character creation screen where you can spend 3 hours creating your dude and then complete the main story in 2 hours

  • Have they actually ever said they'll make Half-Life 3 or have people just been speculating for decades?
