The offer nothing to food, they offer nothing to the experience and you look like a fuckin doofus with the half eaten food in your mouth that I have to look at just because you want an instagram or TikTok video as you pull the other end away. Cheese pulls make me irrationally mad.
u/sentientburrito666, your post does fit the subreddit!
This is a 9/10 dentists on subs like r/stupidfood
I’ll take a cheese pull over the knife-scrape-to-show-it’s-crispy maneuver
I never even have sound on anyway so it's extra ridiculous
They both suck. I do agree though, a cheese pull is much better than a stupid knife scrape.
My kids oddly get excited for a cheese pull which is probably the equivalent of a grown-ass adult being annoyed by cheese pulls
Also, is cheese that pulls even better than the types of cheese that don't? I don't think so.
i think so
I prefer drippy cheese myself
I love Feta but it's not really social media cheese.
Right? I'm not getting cheese pulls from my brie, goat, or bleu, either, but they're amazing.
Idek why this comment is so funny to me, thank you
I had to look up what the fuck a cheese pull is.
I agree, it's stupid.
And they always end up not actually pulling when they cool off even slightly. And I always end up choking on it too!
At first I thought there was some kind of cheese that you have to pull like taffy
I thought OP was talking about cheese string snack cheese and I was ready to throw down about it lol
I agree. I don’t hate the cheese pull itself as much as the phrase “cheese pull” and how everything is a “thing” now. Like Dave Portnoy and his “no flop” on pizza. Not everything has to be a catchphrase.
Is it a kitchen item?
String cheese?
Yes it is dumb
I love a good cheese pull, especially with a mozzarella stick. Show me that cheese!
For me it's the zit-poping oven baked garlic. Its fucking gross.
I’ll be honest, with no context, that title had me thinking of people pulling giant blocks of cheese like a tractor pull lol
I like cheese pulls bc it mean the cheese is melted enough
I think the whole ?“cheese culture”? thing in America as a whole is pretty damn stupid. I’m of the opinion that you CAN most certainly use TOO MUCH CHEESE! and it’s not very hard to do that. But judging by the way people toss 3 bags onto every meal, I guess I’m in the minority. I’m aware some people intentionally waste food to Rage-bait. But a lot you all just can’t cook.
Agreed. When I was a kid once I puked because I swallowed cheese that stretched from my mouth down my throat without breaking. That's not to say stretchy cheese is bad, but it's certainly not fucking offering me anything
The only time I thought cheese pulls were cool was the first time I had a fresh mozzarella stick. Looked cool as hell and it tasted great. I was like 8 though.
They are disgusting to watch. I bite my food. I don’t want to pull it across a table.
Imo they just look gross and super unhealthy.
I prefer dry, crumbly aged cheeses myself.. Even better with the little crunchy crystals in it. Yumm.. If you ever see a wedge of Grana Padano at the store, treat yourself and try it.
I mean, depends entirely on what you're making
I feel this way about “getting a nice char” on food. No I don’t like my stuff burn. Flaky and a little crispy, but not burnt. It adds nothing to, and actually detracts from, the flavor of the food
This would be a better post than the post you're commenting on.
Except hot dogs
There’s a difference between char & burnt
You can get a crust on something and it be good. You char my damn food I'm going to throw it at you!
My husband used to tell me to get well done steaks when I was pregnant, I told him I'm not paying $20+ to eat rubber.
Actually sometimes people will actively make their food worse to chase a good cheese pull. Never made sense to me I guess some people care more about presentation than others
OP what the hell is a cheese pull?
Is it when you get like a mozzarella stick and when you break it open to cool off so you don't burn the shit out of your mouth on hot grease and cheese, the cheese stretches as the two halve separate?
So you just hate when Mozzarella cheese is hot then? Because that's just how that works.
first of all, no need to be so condescending
second of all, probably means when people try to impress others with that stuff
What.....
Awww are you ok?
I heard that cheese doesn't naturally pull, unless it has a bunch of additives (READ: chemicals) in it.
Depends on the cheese
So you unless you are dumber than cheese you should be able to think critically and understand that things like different levels of heat, the structure of the cheese, the chewiness of the cheese, the makeup of the cheese, all influence how the cheese pulls and seeing that visually can allow people to compare it with their own build up experience with cheese. So cheese when you cheese cheese, cheese right?
What's dumb as HELL is influencers chewing with their mouth closed on camera/mic. I can't see how the food seperates around the teeth. Are you struggling? Is it easy? How much tongue manipulation is required here. I wanna see them eat like cookie monster. OMNOMNOMNOM.
THIS GOT MORE SATIRICAL THAN INTENDED AFTER I WENT OUTSIDE, SMOKED UP, AND SAW HOW MANY TIMES I USED THE WORD CHEESE.
I still think there is some amount of value in cheese pulls tho and I believe chefs and cheese critics alike would agree. I wanna see those milk proteins stretch. I wanna be able to tell if that shits gonna squeak on my teeth(if you can't do this visually, skill issue. Eat more cheese. Fry some haloumi. Eat some curds.) Show me the CHEESE.
It's for social media only. The vast majority of people don't give a shit. Get off social media.
